A Family Business with Tradition

Deichmann is not just a company name but also the surname of its founder and current owners. In 1913, in Essen, Germany, Heinrich Deichmann established a shoemaking workshop that produced and sold shoes for local miners.

After the war, his son, a trained orthopedic doctor, developed a thriving retail network, starting with a single store. On the 50th anniversary of the company's founding (1963), there were 16 Deichmann stores. Eleven years later, there were already 100.

Despite rapid expansion in the following years, the company remains a family-run business, currently managed by the third generation of the Deichmann family.

A Market Leader in Europe

The Deichmann Group is the largest footwear retailer in Europe. It also owns other retail chains, such as Snipes and MyShoes. We operate in 31 countries, including outside of Europe, with over 4,300 stores and employ 42,000 people.

A key aspect of our business is sustainable growth, financed solely from our own funds, ensuring the company's economic stability.

We have been operating in Poland since 1997, where we now have over 260 stores. Deichmann-Obuwie is registered in Poland, with its headquarters in Wrocław.

Our Recipe for Success

High-quality, fashionable footwear at affordable prices – this principle allows us to sell approximately 200 million pairs of shoes annually across our network, including 10 million pairs in Poland.
